Editorial Review:
Product Description:
Contains interviews with traders to whom you can relate. Combining analytical and psychological modeling studies of each trader and their strategies, this book is designed to help you determine what you need to beat the odds.
Amazon.com Review:
Here are 14 extensive interviews with "ordinary people" who decided to change careers and are now successfully trading stocks or commodities for a living. What sets this book apart from others in the investor-profile genre is that these are not trading superstars but former farmers, teachers, salesmen, restaurant owners, and engineers who have achieved their success through persistence and hard work. In Real People; Real Traders coauthor Adrienne Laris Toghraie writes, "For anyone who thinks that trading is an easy way to make money, these life stories will be a revelation." In-depth interviews explore each person's character and background and reveal many of the qualities it takes to succeed as a trader. The people describe their attraction and approach to the markets and are generous with details about their trading methods.
It's noteworthy that many of the traders have in common the mentoring influence of entrepreneurial parents, an enterprising spirit at a young age, and a trading education that is for the most part self-taught. All are voracious readers of books on trading and the markets. In fact, the specific books each trader recommends make this an excellent resource for further study. Real People; Real Traders includes charts and indicators to illustrate the traders' methods and systems, and many readers will gain valuable insight into the psychology of winning in the markets. --Scott Harrison

- Save your moneyThis book is very disapointing. I have bought this book on the hype from the author on CNBC but I've regretted my purchase. Boring questions... a lot of info not related to trading but to personnal life of traders, their environment their family... and on and on. This book can be read in 2 hours and does not reveal any strong insight. Of course the 14 testimonials of the traders have one thing in comon... they all (or most of them) had Adrienne (the author) as their mentor. What a bias ... Read More

- GOOD OVERVIEW OF REAL PEOPLEVERY DOWN TO EARTH PROFILE OF SEVERAL TRADERS. THEIR BACKGROUND AND SELF-DISCILPINE ARE VERY INTERESTING. EACH HAS HAD SET BACKS BUT PERSERVERED AND WERE ABLE TO MASTER THE MARKETS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. ENJOYED THE PHILOSOPHICAL MODELING AND ANALYTICAL PROFILE OF EACH TRADER.

- It wasn't exactly what I'd hoped for.I was excited about reading this book. I was expecting to read about real people who learned to trade and explained the difficulties and rewards of their efforts. I had also hoped that there would be plenty of discussion of the methods they used to achieve those results.
What I recieved instead was surface questions about their family life and their personal background (even how their childhood was). The answers to these questions were then used to put together a personality profile ... Read More

- A great book on tradingThis book is one of the best books on trading I have ever read. What sets it apart is discussions that show what it really takes to become a trader. It's much more then indicators and buying systems made by others. It's a psychological change and this books explains it very well.
