With the current volatility in the market, The Disciplined Investor gives the essential strategies to give even the most novice investor (me) a fighting chance. The book mainly covers stock screening, chart reading, and fundamental analysis, the trifecta of Horowitz's recipe for successful investing in any market. Rating: - Awesome book from investor who gives real advice
I've listened to his podcasts as well as his segments on TWIT, and Andrew is a true find. Down to earth, gives you real advice, and doesn't scare you with hype as some do. If you take Cramer and Andrew it's a 100% opposite. Good info in book and a must read for investors in this volatile market. If you're looking to impress someone for the holidays and they want to know about the market, get them this book.

I have been a avid listener of Andrew Horowitz podcast, and was reluctant to buy the book only because of fear of reading the same stuff I hear. I wrong. His book compliments his podcast and provides an powerful way to help develop a discipline (profitable) investor.

I just finished reading Andrew's book. I feel that he wants to do the best job he can to give you a very complete overview of investing in a very clear and concise manner. He seems to want to help you protect yourself so that you can avoid many of the mistakes most beginning investor's make. I have already instituted many of his recommendations into my own investing strategies. You must make this book a part of your library.
