Product Description:
@COURSE = For the basic Behavior Management course. Scholarly and empirically-based, this market-leading book gives readers what they need to know to understand and use the principles and practices of applied behavioral management in the classroom. The content is presented clearly, in a friendly, accessible—even fun—manner. Chapters flow, step-by-step, through an actual behavior analysis, using classroom-based examples and practices firmly grounded in research. Content is presented in the order of decision-making by: 1) a teacher who has a student exhibiting challenging behavior in class; or, 2) a student who needs to execute a behavior-change project. This book covers: identifying target behavior, collecting and graphing data, experimental design, arranging antecedents and consequences, and generalizing behavior change. For professionals in the fields of teaching and behavior management.

- For Advanced StudyI am currently taking a Graduate Level Advanced Behavior Analysis (ABA) class at a local university. This book was a requirement for my class and this class is required for graduation. This class was my first Special Education course and this book is definitely not for someone who doesn't understand reward/punishment with regards to behavior. The book is comprehensive but should not be used for someone looking to "gain a little insight" into ABA. This book encompasses all of ABA. If you are ABA ... Read More

- Good for Special EducatorsI had to buy this textbook last year, as I was getting my teaching endorsement in Special Education. It is a good text, although mostly only useful if you are studying this for ceritification (I haven't used since I've been teaching).

- Teach yourself to teach kids! This detailed how to book offers a variety of technical interventions and some neccessary theory surrounding Applied Behavior Analysis. It also presents a variety of explanations and examples for classroom use. I really enjoyed the read and highly recommend it. My students also found it usefull!

- For learning about ABA and relating to school you cannot beat this book...My title states it all. The 7th edition trumps the phenomenal 6th edition in it's inclusion of IDEA 2004/NCLB concepts. It is well worth the price difference between this book and most ABA books.

- technical lingoThe only thing I really did not like about this book was it had a lot of technical verbage that tends to put one to sleep. The examples and scenarios were helpful in presenting the content.
